Gerry Walsh is a Partner at McKeever Solicitors in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin, is admitted to practice in Ireland and is head of the firm’s Litigation practice.
He has advised extensively on all aspects of Financial Services (including Insurance), Corporate and Private Client Litigation for over 30 years and has acted for many receivers and liquidators as well as appointing them on behalf of Financial Institutions.
He has represented one of the main Financial Institutions in Ireland at various government tribunals and has acted in many high profile cases where funds have been misappropriated by professionals.
His major role in recent times has been focused on providing advisory and litigation services to Financial Institutions and corporate entities (particularly in the Energy sectors) to include on receivership, examinership, insolvency and recovery issues.
He has extensive experience of, and has represented clients on many occasions before, the Commercial Division of the High Court.
He advises Financial Institutions on their legal entitlement to recover properties secured in their favour where borrowers have transferred them to connected parties with a view to avoiding their liabilities or dissipating their assets. This includes giving advice on the implications of the NAMA Act.
He provides advisory and litigation services to several of the major energy suppliers in the Irish market as well as a multinational supplier of consumer products.
He has also been active in advising clients on pursuing assets overseas including property, with the assistance of an International Association of Lawyers of which the firm is a member.
